Juliana Haygert - Sunday Summary

How is it already May? I’m not ready for May. There are too many things happening …

Last Friday was my husband’s EMBA graduation banquet; my MIL arrives from Brazil next week; there’s my daughter’s 7th birthday; my daughter’s school Fun Fair which I [had to] volunteered to help; my husband’s EMBA graduation ceremony; I’m taking my daughter and my MIL to see American Ballet Theatre’s Don Quixote; I’ll get my 3rd tattoo; and then there’s BEA.

Phew! It’s going to be exhausting!

READING:

This week was a slow reading week. I’ve only read Second Sight by Cheryl Klein.

WRITING:

I worked on the final revisions of Breaking Fences. Tomorrow I’ll send it out to my editor for line-edits! We’re almost there … only 2 more weeks until I send eARCs to bloggers! *freaks out*

WHATELSE:

On Wednesday, I took the daughter to a book event with Julie Andrews! It was great.

And on Friday, it was my husband’s EMBA graduation banquet. It was fun and even the daughter (the only child there) liked it.

About books now. I set up a review opportunity for The Everlast Trilogy with Xpresso Tours. If you’re a blogger and is interested in reading and reviewing the trilogy, you can sign-up here :)

Juliana Haygert - Sunday Summary

Last week, I was out on vacations, and this past week has been a little slow. I think I needed vacation from my vacation LOL

READING:

As usual, I started 2 or 3 books and dropped them on the 1st chapter. Then I finally picked up stuff worth reading … I’ve read Outlining You Novel by KM Weiland, Shadow Prince by Stacey O’Neale, and Half Bad by Sally Green.

WRITING:

My editor worked on Breaking Fences while I was away and this week I’ve been all over it. Should be done with revision by next Friday. Hopefully.

WHATELSE:

Nothing much. Our vacation to Disney?Sea World was awesome and the kid keeps talking and remembering it. I’m happy that she’s happy! Well, my hubs and I had a great time too :)

Earlier today, I was at my monthly write-in with my girls (Ghenet, Jessica, and Ginger. Unfortunately, Cris and Katlyn couldn’t make it). Well, our meeting are supposed to be monthly but this is the second this month … nobody is complaining!

ON MY BLOG:

Juliana Haygert - Sunday Summary

This week was slow, so I don’t have much to report …

READING:

I’ve read Writing the Bestseller: Romantic and Commercial Fiction by Jane Porter,  Bitter Sweet Love by Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Kiss Me at Midnight by Diane Alberts.

WRITING:

I’m revising Breaking Fences and, since revising is my least favorite part of the whole writing/publishing thing, it’s going slooooooow.

And, on the back of my mind, I’ve been plotting The Everlasting Circle (The Everlast Trilogy #3) and also a secret project ;)

WHATELSE:

Nothing much. The kid didn’t have school this Friday, so I haven’t done anything writing/revising related since Thursday!

I’ve been very absent on social media this past week and I feel bad about it. But at the same time, I don’t feel like trying to catch up.

Meanwhile, Xpresso Book Tours posted the sign-up for the review-only blog tour of Breaking Fences! If yo’re a blogger and/or a reviewer and would like to participate, you can click here!

Juliana Haygert - Sunday Summary

If you guys have been around here,  you know I post almost every Wednesday on the meme created by Jaime Morrow and Erin Funk, called What’s Up Wednesday (link goes to my last WUW post). I love it, but, as I’m trying to create a tighter routine so I can write and/or edit more, it’s becoming complicate to spend a couple of hours reading everyone’s posts. Don’t get me wrong – I love reading what everyone is up to and supporting, but it’s very time consuming, and time is precious. I feel really bad for leaving WUW behind.

But I thought having a day of the week to update the blog was a great idea. So, I’m creating my own Summary Sunday. It’s nothing major, no meme, no linksy. It’s just me telling you what I’m up to. And you read and comment if you want, when you want. No pressure ;)

(It’s a nice way for me to keep my progress in check too).

READING:

This past week I read Girl in Love by Caisey Quinn, and I read Write Your Novel Form the Middle by James Scott Bell – an awesome book that will make total sense and will make you eager to use this method on your manuscripts!

WRITING:

This past week, I wrote 12594 words (Mon, Tue, and Wed) and on Wed I typed THE END on Breaking Fences! *happy dance*

However, as you know, now come revisions. I have two weeks to make this work before sending it out to my editor *bites nails*

WHATELSE:

Last Sunday, I had my monthly write-in with my girls. We are six ladies, but only three of us went. Regardless, it was a good day — we talked a lot about writing and publishing, and I wrote 4800 words!

I took the daughter to see Sleeping Beauty with Royal Ballet at the movie theater on Thursday, and then I drove to Boston on Saturday and took her to see Cinderella by Boston Ballet — Lauren Garafalo met us there!

ON MY BLOG:

– Teaser Tuesday

– Cover Love: Breaking Fences

– Cover Love: Dearest Clementine

–  Increase Your Writing Productivity: the power of realism, reset, and record by Susan Dennard
