It’s My Birthday!

Like when my 1st anniversary as a published author came, I almost didn’t post anything about my birthday.

But then I thought, why not? It’s my 30th birthday. An important number, right? Odd thing is, when I was a teenager, I thought 30yo was so old lol Along my 20s, that changed and I know believe the 30s are the new 20s. At 30, people are still so young and some are just now finding love and starting a family … there’s so much to life!

Anyway, I just wanted to mark this day :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! And to Renita Pizzitola and Laura Howard!

Taking advantage of this post, please remember there’s still 2 giveaways going on:

One Year!

I wasn’t going to post anything but this date is too important to pass up …

This day last year, Her Heart’s Secret Wish was released into the world, making me a published author!

*cheers*

Since then, I’ve released 3 novels (Destiny Gift, Soul Oath, and Breaking the Reins) and another novella (His Allure, Her Passion). I almost released a 3rd novella (Cup of Life), but I’m holding on to that one until next month.

I could spend hours here listing a bunch of people – friends really – that helped me during this year, and even before that … but I’m sure if I’ll try, I’ll forget someone and I hate when that happens. I usually mention these very important people on the Acknowledgments part of my books, though :D

I’m not doing a celebratory giveaway because I have other 3 giveaways open right now. Here are they:

E-copy of Destiny Gift and Soul Oath and an e-copy of a non-contemporary NA novel of your choosing:

a Rafflecopter giveaway

E-copy of Destiny Gift and Soul Oath, paperback of Destiny Gift and Soul Oath and a $25 Nook or Kindle giftcard:

Top Ten Things I’m Thankful For

I usually don’t participate of Top Ten Tuesday, but I couldn’t pass on today’s topic.
To learn more about Top Ten Tuesday hosted by The Broke and the Bookish click here!

Top TenSeven Things I’m Thankful For

– I’m thankful for my husband and my daughter. Without them, my life wouldn’t have any meaning.

– I’m thankful for the rest of my family. Even though I’m away from most of my family, I still think they are the most important thing in my life. That they are my foundation.

– I’m thankful for my friends. Real life friends, long-time-no-see friends, online friends, writer friends, crazy friends.

– I’m thankful for being so fortunate. I have a home, I have a car, I have food on my plate, I have clothes to put on … in Brazil, there are a lot of homeless people or very poor people who live in shacks along the roads, especially in big cities and to see them like that always twists my stomach. I might complaint a lot about my day, about certain shitty things that happens here and then, but I know it could be so much worse, so so so much worse. I’m so, so thankful for my life and the way it is.

– I’m thankful for my health. That’s all that matters, right? I’m healthy enough to fight for what I want, to go after my dreams.

– I’m thankful for being able to do what I love – WRITING!

– I’m thankful for books and everything about them – book bloggers, readers, authors, editors, agents, and everything in the publishing industry.

Oh, since I probably won’t blog again this week: HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Cheers,

Happy Halloween and a Short Story

Happy Halloween!

Back in July 2012, HarperTeen and Figment had a short story contest – it had to be about the dark and shouldn’t be longer than 4k words. I entered the contest – I didn’t win, but I got a very nice email from the judge and editor of the anthology the short story was to be published with, saying that the story was beautiful and that my writing was gorgeous, and such.

Though I wrote that short story over a year ago, I still think it’s my best writing to this day. It’s very different than my contemporary style, or my UF style. This is more … lush? I don’t know how to explain.

Anyway, it’s a story about witches and ghosts and witch hunters … and, since it’s Halloween, I thought you would like to read it :D

You can find my short story, Into the Darkest Fire, on WattPad or Figment – if you read it, let me know what you think! I love comments :)

Into The Darkest FireBy the way, the cover was designed by my NA Alley sister, Jaycee DeLorenzo. Isn’t it gorgeous?

I hope you like it! :)

Happy Holidays!

Hey guys!

My brother, his wife and my niece are visiting us from Brazil. They want me to take them to NYC (of course), Washington, and to ski—I haven’t skied in six year! But just checked my skis and poles and boots and they are shining like new … I just hope they work like new too!

Anyway, I’m taking a blog break until the new year. I know, shocking, right? My first blog break EVER! And I’ll also be very quiet on twitter and FB, probably.

Meanwhile, I wish you and your loved ones HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
someecards.com - Santa saw your Facebook posts. You're getting new clothes and a dictionary for Christmas.
See you soon!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello dear friends,

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just want to take this opportunity to say thanks.

I’m one of those people who is always complaining about something, when actually I know I have nothing to complaint about. I always want more, when all that I have is imperfectly perfect. I keep forgetting about being thankful for who I am, for my family and friends, for what I have, and what I lived … my life is amazing and I’m very, very thankful for it!

And I’m very thankful for my blog readers, and for my online friends. Thank you for coming here, for reading my boring blog posts, for tweeting with me, for pinning with me, for supporting me … it means a lot, really! THANK YOU!

I hope you’re having a great time with your family and friends!

See you all soon!

Cheers,
