Q1 2021 Recap!

Hi friends,

Starting today, I’ll have a new kind of post go up every 3 months here on the blog. It’ll be a post with all the latest goodies and summarizing what happened the previous quarter, and I’ll probably also tell you about my plans for the next quarter. This way, you guys can have a better idea of what’s going, even if you missed a post or 2 or 5 lol, and also have an idea of what’s to come.

Note: I hold the right to change my plan at any time with little to no warning! Lately, life has been very demanding of my person, and I have had little time to write, which means, my plans are changing more than ever.

What happened:

So I don’t repeat all the information from other posts and risk this one being way too long, I’ll just add the links below and you can click and read them, if you want.

  • Release of Breaking Down
  • Release of Rite World Boxed Set
  • Release of Summer Prince
  • Autumn Rebel Cover Reveal
  • Release of Shadows and Starlight – a FREE exclusive anthology!
  • Etsy Store – buy signed paperback copies!
  • Buy direct – you can now buy e-books directly from me. This means I’ll give you an exclusive discount (apply the coupon FORMYREADERS on checkout for 10%!). You pay less and I make more money. For me, more money = more books for you!
  • Books in large print – read more about it here!
  • New mailing lists!
  • Creation of 2 news pages on the website: Fiction Apps and Audiobooks
  • I’ve been posting chapters of The Light Calling on my newsletter! Sign-up to read it!
  • Or, if you prefer, you can listen to the audiobook of The Light Calling for FREE by either signing up for my mailing list, or on YouTube
  • Creation of my YouTube channel–please subscribe!
  • Production of Audiobooks! (you can peek at the upcoming audiobooks on the page linked above!)

What’s happening now:

  • Writing Autumn Rebel
  • Plotting a Halloween book
  • Still producing Audiobooks
  • Trying to stay sane while helping the 6yo with virtual kindergarten (it’s not going too well, you guys)

What will happen next:

  • The writing will continue slow because of life. Things should speed up a tiny little bit in June.
  • Audiobooks! I’m guessing I should have two new audiobooks ready in April, and more coming in the summer. I’ll announce it on my blog (and everywhere online) when they are up for sale!
  • In April, there will be a new boxed set up for sale! Stay tuned for that too!

I think that is it for now! I’ll do another one of these posts when Q2 of 2021 ends!

Cheers,

Mailing Lists

Hi friends,

To make things easier, I created two other mailing lists–one for audiobooks news, and one for only new releases.

So, you now have 3 options:

  1. You can sign-up for my regular mailing list, which includes books news, cover reveals, promos, giveaways, and more. This email is sent every two weeks, more or less.
  2. You can sign-up to receive emails about new releases only. It’ll be shorter, highlighting only the new book. This one will more less frequent–maybe once a month, sometimes once every two months, depending on my release schedule.
  3. You can sign-up for an audiobook mailing list. I’ll send an email to this list only when I have news about audiobooks, new audiobook releases or promos. I don’t know how frequent this one will be, since I have only 4 audiobooks right now (but I’m working on 4 more!).

If you’re already on my regular mailing list and wants to continue like that, you don’t need to do anything.

If you’re already on my regular mailing list, but wants to change to one of the new ones, or both new ones, then please, sign-up for those. When I see your email on those lists, I’ll take it out of the regular list.

Does that make sense?

Cheers,

The Post About All The Things

Hello friends,

There are so many things going on around here, a lot of things changing, book and writing wise, I mean, and I want to tell you all about it so you don’t miss anything, so if you haven’t already, go grab some coffee or tea or wine, and come back to read it all!

About Me, Life, and Writing

We’re all living through unprecedented times. Things are super crazy right now, but thank goodness, my family and I are fine. We’re closer than ever, we’re happy, we’re healthy. My only issue with all this covid-19 thing (in a personal level) is the fact that the kids are home all the time, which means my writing time shrunk a lot since March. Even though I prefer them at home right now and will keep them at home and do virtual learning (school starts back next week), I miss having my alone time at home when I could write and write and write.

And now school is starting back for the 2020-2021 year, and I just know things will be a little hectic, at least for a while until we get into a routine–and that will eat up even more of my already little writing time.

Which means, I’ll be writing even less …

I do have 3 books scheduled to come out by January 2021 (you’ll read about them below)–and those are mostly ready–so I think I’ll be able to continue publishing a book every 2 maybe 3 months for a while.

As for what I’m writing next … I’ve decided to stay in the Rite World for a little longer (or indefinitely if you guys keep reading those books! lol). I’m actually outlining 2 series in that world right now: one, a Upper YA Urban Fantasy which will have the same feel as the Blackthorn Hunters Academy (though it won’t be set in an academy), and two, a standalone NA/Adult Paranormal Romance that will feel a lot like the Rite of ___ (Vampire, Warlock, Wolf), but instead of being a trilogy for each couple, it’ll be standalone books. I had thought about writing both at the same time, like write book 1 of one series, then book 1 of the other series, then go back to book 2 of the first series, and so on. But I’ll be honest, with the kids home and one girl in kindergarten and me having to stay with her in front of the computer for several hours doing all the work with her, I’m just not sure how I’ll be able to manage writing two series at a time. Before the pandemic, I wrote about 3.5-5k words per weekday. Now I’m super lucky when I write 750-1k words 4x a week. I think I’ll choose one of those 2 series and start with it. When the pandemic goes away and the kids can go back to school, and I regain my precious writing time, I’ll rethink the juggling series thing.

Also, I’m just finishing a novella (title: The Vampire Hunt) which will be exclusive for my newsletter subscribers, so if you haven’t already, subscribe to my newsletter (scroll down to the “Where to Find Me” part for the link). I have another novella (title: The Dark Calling) which I wrote and had free for a while a few years back. I realized I can revamp that novella a bit and set it in the Rite World, so I’ll do that still this month. I do not know what I’ll do with this second novella–probably add it as a bonus on a boxed set or something. Regardless, if you subscribe to my newsletter and/or join my facebook group, you’ll hear about it.

All right … let’s talk about other stuff now …

Over this side of the screen …

I have a couple of news and reminders to share with you:

BEA 2013:

One of the perks of living so close to NYC? Getting to go on so many concerts, events, shows, museums, and CONFERENCES!

This time, it’s BOOK EXPO AMERICA :)

bea-logo

I’ll be there all day Saturday, June 1st (with a black shirt with the cover of DESTINY GIFT stamped on it). If you plan on being there, let me know. I would love to meet you!

#NACrushTourney:

Have you guys heard of the #YACrushTourney hosted by Brit, Amy and Jen of YA Sisterhood? If you haven’t, click here to read what it is.

So, since the NA authors and readers are disappointed their heroes can’t make it into the YA Crush Tourney, NA Alley will be hosting the first NA Crush Tourney ever!

NA_Tourney2

This years, we’ll start small, with only one category and not many heroes competing, but I bet it’ll be fun and a huge success. And hopefully next year we’ll be able to expand it :)

The official announcement is up on NA Alley’s blog. Click the link and help us spread the word!

DESTINY GIFT Promo:

Destiny Gift is still on sale for $0.99!

Stamford Author Event:

sae-grab-button

Here’s the official text:

“Join 35 authors of contemporary, new adult, paranormal fiction and more at the Hilton Executive Center in Stamford, Connecticut, on August 10, 2013, from 12pm-4pm. Enjoy an afternoon of books, swag, and more as you get the latest releases from your favorite authors and discover new voices.

You’ll also be eligible to enter a raffle and clinch the Grand Prize: a brand new Kindle Paperwhite, loaded with all our books! Attendees will also qualify to win VIP passes to mix and mingle with authors and book bloggers at the after-event, from 4pm to 6pm.”

Btw, admission is FREE! Here’s the blog in case you want to follow the news :)

Amazon E-book Refund:

I’ve never really cared about this, until I became a published author.

Amazon refund policy states that you can return an e-book  7 days after its purchase – that’s enough time to read it. Did you ever go to a bookstore, buy a paperback or a hardcopy, read it and even if you didn’t like it, return it?

Glenda Wallace created this petition for authors to sign, so we can ask Amazon to cancel their refund policy. Like she states on the petition, “Is this fair or not? This is like going into a restaurant, buying a meal, then asking for a refund after you’ve already eaten it!”

So, if you’re an author and agree with this, please click the link above and sign the petition!

Phew! That’s it for now …

Have a great weekend and a safe holiday!

Cheers,

#ROW80 check-in 09/09

Hello friends! It’s ROW80 update time.

My goals for last week and how it went:

  1. Writing: revising Amber Energy. Giving myself until Sept 15th. I’m being bad with this. Yes, I’m revising and adding more words (cause I can’t revise without upping the word count). I added 2000 words Tues, and 3000 Wed. And on Thurs I broke the manuscript down scene by scene and analyzed each scene, focusing on important element and keys, if I was missing any or presenting them too late or too soon. Complex work, but I like doing this. On Fri, I employed all I had done on Thurs (switching scenes order and adding/cutting scenes, etc).
  2. Reading: finish book #51. Again, I got to 40% of a book and gave up. It’s frustrating! Now I’m 21% into another one but I think I’ll finish this since it’s great so far …
  3. Social media: blog at least twice and hop on Twitter from time to time. Done.
  4. Exercise: 3x at least. Four. Monday was a holiday and I had plans to go, but woke up with a headache and couldn’t =(

It was a good week, I think. BUT my mind keeps wandering to other projects. Several other projects. I want to work on several projects at once and I’m sure it won’t work out nicely if I try it. First, because it’ll take longer to finish one thing, second, because it’ll give room for more distraction or down time while switching from one to another.

On the bright side, Friday night I received some amazing news … I’ll probably be able to share more on that some time this week. And, with that news, came more work. Stay tuned because there’ll probably be a post this week about it ;)

Moving on … my goals for next week:

  1. Writing: actually revising. Send my ms for first critique until Friday (but I hope to get it out the door by Wed). And I need to start working on the “amazing news” too.
  2. Reading: finish book #51, read book #52.
  3. Social media: blog at least twice and hop on Twitter from time to time.
  4. Exercise: 3x at least.

That’s it for now.

Want to check out the other ROWers? Click here!

Have a great week, everyone!

Cheers,
