NA Crush Tourney 2014

Tourney_Banner_v2

It’s time for the 2nd New Adult Crush Tournament!

Don’t know what the NA Crush Tourney is, click here and read all about it.

But in short, readers nominate their fave NA heroes. The top 30 heroes will enter the tourney. Advocates (bloggers who like those heroes) will prepare posts to go up on match days to try and persuade readers to vote for their heroes.

Last year, the tourney was a success – and lots of fun! Let’s make the tourney this year even better!

You can nominate your favorite NA heroes by clicking here!

Cheers,

New Adult Pitch Contest – NA Alley!

Hey guys!

My NA sisters and I are hosting a New Adult pitch contest with agent Vickie Motter (blog | twitter) of Andrea Hurst Literary Management over at NA Alley blog TODAY. Head over there!

If you don’t write New Adult, you can still query Ms. Motter. You can check here all the genres she accepts and how to query her.

Good luck!

Cheers,

Hey guys,

I don’t know if you’ve been over to the NA Alley blog, but there is an upcoming pitch contest with agent Lauren Hammond (blog | twitter) of ADA Management Group (August 8th) and each month we have a Featured Book of the Month with a giveaway.

Also, my NA sister Victoria Smith wrote a nice blog post about using Goodreads to promote New Adult (or anything, really).

The awesome editor Adrien-Luc Sanders is having a contest on his blog. He’ll closed it at 50 entries, so I’m not sure if by the time this go live, it’ll be open or closed.

Lovely Dorothy Dreyer has a pitch contest coming up on her blog (August 20th and 21st).

Savvy Authors has tons of pitches contests coming up. Check often as they update this daily.

Also, you should follow these bloggers because besides great people, they have contests frequently: Brenda Drake, Authoress, Krista Van Dolzer, the ladies at Operation Awesome, and the writers at YAtopia.

Do you have any contest or interesting posts to share?

Cheers,

New Adult Pitch Contest

Hey there!

Today, at NA Alley, I’m talking about pitches, because tomorrow we’ll be hosting a critique session there that will serve as a training session for the awesome contest YAtopia will host on their blog on July 10th. They’ll be accepting 35-words pitches of New Adult manuscripts and agent Sara Megibow from Nelson Literary Agency and editor Heather Howland from Entangled Publishing will be choosing the winners!

The critique session tomorrow will have the participation of lovely New Adult author Lynn Rush. I hope to see you there!

NEW ADULT IS HAPPENING!

Cheers,

#ROW80 Check-in 05/06

Hello there!

Welcome to the weekly #ROW80 check-in.

Here are my goals (and how I’m doing):

  • Organize my new home and my new schedule. Almost done. Actually, I’ll consider this done, since we won’t add anything new to the house for a while and my office is workable ;)
  • Once my life is normal again (or almost), find a gym and exercise 3 times per week. I actually went to the gym on Monday and signed the contract. Then went to classes on Wed (pilates mat) and Fri (Groove … or dancing). Not 3 times a week, but progress! Next week will be 3x for sure ;)
  • Participate on Crafting the Sensual Novella Workshop from April 9th to May 6th. Today is the last day, so done.
  • Finish revising my novel, DESTINY GIFT. Done! Done! Done!
  • Start a new novel or novella and get as far as I can with it. Still on planning stages, though I wrote 2 scenes already and have the outline for many others scribbled down. I filled the beatsheet too (Save the Cat! anyone?). I’m gonna try to finish it in May, because of … (look at next line) …
  • In June, participate of the JuNoWriMo. To count, I’ll start writing something new here. I”m thinking a novelette and novella, and add up to 50k words with both.
  • Read 5 books each month (year total = 60). On track.
  • Social network: blog at least once a week (not counting #ROW80 checkins), comment on blogs every other day, and tweet a little everyday. Done. May will be a busy month on my blog, with lots of blog hops and blog tours.

This week was busy! I finished revising DESTINY GIFT, and there was also the launch of my group blog NA Alley … did you guys check it out yet? You should ;) We’re a group of seven writers trying to promote the New Adult category, which isn’t recognized yet, but we won’t change what we write because it doesn’t exist. Anyway … you can visit the blog and read all about it there. Oh, there’s a giveaway going on there!

And Friday, I spent the day with a migraine and because of that, couldn’t focus on anything. Got nothing done on Friday =(

I think I forgot to say this before, but Saturdays and Sundays are family days, where I try to do nothing writing-related, other than read a book after sleeping. I’ll probably add that to my “goals* …

That’s it for now.

Want to check on my friends? Click on the linky list on the ROW80 check-in page and visit their blogs!

Cheers,
