RTW: My Next Life …

Road Trip Wednesday is a “Blog Carnival,” where YA Highway‘s contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question that begs to be answered. In the comments, you can hop from destination to destination and get everybody’s unique take on the topic.

This week’s topic:

If you could be reincarnated as any fictional character, which would it be?

The answer to this question is a hard one. I want to be so many of the characters I read and watch, and the ones I write … I know I was supposed to choose only one, but I’m cheating, because there’s no way I could choose only one. Even five was hard.

In no particular order:

  • Rose Hathaway from Vampire Academy
  • Katsa from Graceling
  • Dez from Touch
  • Korra from Legend of Korra (Hey, nobody specified it had to be from books!)
  • Nikita from Nikita (the new one from CW)

Noticing a pattern? Yes, all of them are STRONG protagonists. I love a kickass girl who isn’t afraid of showing it and who isn’t defined by her love interest, nor needs love to survive. Sure, they suffered through their stories and I would love to skip those parts when I reincarnate into them ;)

Coincidence or not, if you check out my bio, I have a list of strong heroines I would love to be =P

Your turn. Tell me who would you choose to be?

Cheers,

Great choices! I almost picked Korra. She’s amazing!

From your list, I’d have to go with Katsa. I loved that character, though coming into contact with Leck (even if it was to kick the crap out of him) is hardly something I’d jump at the opportunity to do. In the end that ruled her out for me, but only just. ;)

I need to see The Legend of Korra. She looks awesome and I’ve seen so much fanart of her that I’m brimming with curiosity.

The more people mention Katsa, the more I realize I really should post a review for that book. You have very strong female choices, I must say. I was close to picking an Avatar incarnation myself, but well, the Doctor is close enough.

I’d want to be Aragorn from LOTR. Kick-butt character and he’s a king!

I also chose a kick-ass heroine, they are the best! & Katsa and Nikita are great choices, wouldn’t mind being one of them either.

Korra–I’ve seen the first couple of episodes of this, and it looks good–in the vein of Avatar (the cartoon series, not the movie with blue people), but a completely different storyline. Good choice! :)

Definitely a kickass heroine! I am not familiar with all of those, but I do LOVE Katsa!

I’d so love to be Nikita too, she kicks some serious ass – and in serious heels :)

    …er…I don’t know. Love this post idea, Juliana! I may link back in a post once I’ve stewed on the question awhile. :}
