#ROW80 and NTS update 7/8

Hello! First #ROW80 check-in of the round!

My goals for the past week:

  1. Write: Not sure how much I’ll be able to accomplish with my cousin here and with a holiday, but I’ll try to write every weekday! Wrote about 2000 words on Mon and Tue, then done nothing Wed and Thu, and worked on outline and character’s GMC on Friday. Usually, I don’t write during weekends, but I wrote 3000 words on Sat, and worked a bit more on outline.
  2. FastDraft starts Saturday (7th) but I’m sure I’ll only be able to join the ranks on July 10th, after my cousin is gone. Waiting for the cousin to go ;)
  3. Read: Finish the book I’m reading and start another. I was on a roll and finished three!
  4. Social media: blog at least once (besides check-in), and hop on Twitter a couple of times each day. Done.
  5. Exercise: twice at least (Tuesday and Thursday). Done.

Not bad, but not good either, but I know I couldn’t have done much better with my cousin here.

And here are the goals I want to accomplish this week:

  1. Write: see below.
  2. FastDraft: write all afternoon from 12:30 to 5pm (from Tue to Fri) and get LOTS of words down.
  3. Read: read my CP’s manuscript and book #36 (goodreads challenge).
  4. Social Media: blog at least once (besides check-in) and hop on Twitter whenever I have a free time.
  5. Exercise: 3x at least.

Don’t forget to check the other ROWers! Have a great week everyone!

Cheers,

5000 words in one week is still really good!

I think you did really well, writing 5000 words despite all that was going on in your life this week! Your goals for next week seem doable so I wish you the best! Happy writing!

Amazing word counts!! I too have done less when I was with my sister and nephew but wouldn’t change it for the world! I must look into this fast draft business…lots of people have mentioned it recently. Good luck this week Chica!

For having company in, it sounds like you did a great job with your goals. Plus, three books? Wow. I finished the last bits of a couple this week, and I felt I had made a major accomplishment.

Hope the Fast Draft goes well!

5k, very nice!! I like how you’re handling your list this round. Cousin or not you got to smile about your week. Go on, pat yourself on the back, please.

I really love that you set goals week to week. I really should consider that. I keep playing with different goal-setting strategies each round, and by the end of the round I want to mix things up and feel obligated to stick with whatever I set on Day 1 of Round x. Hmmmm, I’ll have to try a week or two of changing goals based on how my week will be.

I think you are off to a good start. Hope the momentum stays with you. Clearly I’m behind and tomorrow’s another update day, so…
