Did you hear about JuNoWriMo?

I saw a retweet yesterday about something called #JuNoWriMo … that caught my attention instantly. After finding the JuNoWriMo twitter profile, I went to the website to learn more about it.

Here is what says on the About Us page of the website: “Becca Campbell got the crazy idea of starting up her own version of a novel in a month adventure and started tweeting the idea around. Anna Howard tweeted back and Becca asked her to help, and the two of them spent some time conspiring behind locked doors to bring you what is the fresh, summery and citrus-smelling event called JuNoWriMo.”

What is JuNoWriMo exactly, you may be asking yourself … Becca has a blog post explaining all about it,  but in short, it’s just like NaNoWriMo, the only difference is that it’s in June instead ;)

That’s right, JuNoWriMo … isn’t it cool? I so wanted another of those, and here it is!

I already set up my profile on the website and signed up for it. I even put the Participant Button on my sidebar already ——>

What are you waiting for?

Cheers,

I’ve been wanting a different month for NaNoWriMo because November is crazy. I never understood why they’d do an event like that over the holidays. I’d love to do JuNoWriMo, but my kids are home for summer break. :( I’m hoping for one in February. Think about it, captive audience because of the weather, all their money is gone from the holidays. I think that would be a perfect month. Of course, no one cares what I think. ;) I hope JuNoWriMo is a hit!

You now, I always thought November was a crazy month and not very suitable for a crazy writing spree too lol
But, to me, June is going to be good, I think (and hope!).
maybe we should create the FeNoWriMo ;)

Ciara and Juliana–I would completely support you if you did! Not sure if I could write THREE novels a year, but heck, I say if you want something bad enough, CREATE it. :)

Now I know you’re crazy ;) In a good way of course! See, normally we take a wee break between ROW80 rounds but you’re just going to crank it up a notch. I’m sure you’ll knock out 50k in no time. :)

Now I’ve heard of JuNoWriMo. I love participating in NaNoWriMo and if my writing schedule would allow it, I’d totally take part in JuNoWriMo. Good luck to everyone who is taking part though!

I heard about it two years ago through Hart Johnson. I might need to do it this year so I can finish my third book.

NaNoWriMo has already done a novel writing months in summer last year called Camp NaNoWriMo which they did in July and then again in August. I participated in both. In 2012 they are going to be doing Camp NaNoWriMo in June and August. So we really don’t need a Junowrimo. It’s already being done.

November totally doesn’t work for me either. I’m going to check this out. Thanks, Juliana! Best wishes with your JuNoWriMo project!

Very interesting! I’ll check it out – as I’ve just completed my character profile packets and chapter outlines, I’ll be writing long before the challenge. But…you never know….
