“Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway’s contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question that begs to be answered. In the comments, you can hop from destination to destination and get everybody’s unique take on the topic.”
This week’s topic is:
What was the best book you read in October?
I read only four fiction books this month (I’m reading a fifth) and other two on craft. Next week I’ll have a post up with all my October readings (as I do every end of month).
There was one book I had high hopes and, in the end, I was disappointed. It didn’t live to my expectations.
And there were two GREAT ones:
The first one is Touch by Jus Accardo.
Touch is Accardo’s debut novel, published this month by Entangled Publishing, a brand new publisher that is rising quickly to the top.
Great characters, great premise, great twists and conflicts. And Kale, oh Kale … and his sweet moments with Dez … *happy sigh*

The second one was Dark Lover by JR Ward. (Note: Dark Lover is not YA!!)
I was late to the party, I know, but OMG I loved it. All those alpha males in need of some wake-up slaps. I love me a tortured hero! I’ll certainly read the rest of the series … can’t wait to get to Zsadist turn lol

Did you guys read these? Did you like them?
How about you guys, what’s the best book you read in October?
Cheers,

Oooh, I hadn’t heard of these before, but Katy mentioned TOUCH in her post also! *adds to TBR*
Well done lol
I’ve heard great things about TOUCH!
I finally read PREP, and I loved it this month.
Touch is worth it! Go for it!
Touch is definitely on my rapidly growing TBR stack!

Yay!
This is not the first time I’ve seen TOUCH recommended. Oh my poor poor TBR list… expanding by the moment! I can almost see it’s eyes bulging, pleading me to give it some relief and read these books already!!

lol I know how it is! My TBR list is HUGE!!
I haven’t heard of either of those books. Now my TBR list is even longer.

Good choices ;)
Touch was already on my TBR list, but I have to comment on Dark Lover. A friend tried to get me into those- I read the first three. I enjoyed the world and the characters, I discovered that grown-up romance just wasn’t for me. (Charlaine Harris is about as much as I can take, and I love her work.)
Yeah, I know. I like both YA and adult, but I have to read in turns lol
Yay for TOUCH! Love that one, and like you, I ADORED Kale. So sweet and badass and clueless. :)

*nods* Totally! Can’t wait for Toxic! And I know you read it already!
I always feel out of the loop with YA books. Everyone discovers them before I do. But my day is coming, oh yes!
I’ll have to check out Touch. I like the tones on the cover and the title font as it is. My pick for this month was Hunger Games. (Yes, that’s how far behind I am.)
